IMPORTANT NOTES
This cost database provides an overview of the costs of different humanitarian and development programs implemented or supported by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in various contexts around the world.
All costs represent the retrospective actual financial costs incurred from the NGO implementer’s perspective, including all ingredients-based program, support, and indirect costs. Here is more information on our cost analysis methodology (which is the same underlying methodology of the Dioptra tool).
There are many reasons that different programs implemented by different organizations in different contexts may incur different costs. Potential reasons may include program scale, implementation modalities, local prices, security conditions, target populations, etc.
Due to the reasons above, do not make simplistic judgments about relative cost-efficiency based on cost per output numbers alone. For more nuanced data interpretation, please view analysis reports at Dioptra Consortium, IRC, Mercy Corps, CRS.
For any questions, please contact the Dioptra Consortium.
